Magpul is among the more renowned brands of rifles. A unique attribute of Magpul is that the company has an ideal rifle or gun for every level of expertise. The Dynamic Handgun, Aerial Operations and Dynamic Shotgun series are ideal for intermediate training and those who wish to proceed further to high end weapons or firearms training. The Art of the Precision Rifle is the latest series of Magpul that deals with high end weaponry and particularly the long range shooting category. Magpul makes weapons in their entirety and also makes parts and accessories. Two of the most popular Magpul parts are the Magpul CTR and the Magpul PRS. The Magpul CTR is a mil-spec model and a drop-in replacement butt-stock. The compact type restricted model is compatible with AR15 / M16 carbines. The Magpul CTR is lightweight and thus easy to carry. It can be setup instantly and can be detached conveniently as well. The fast action and the streamlined A-frame profile helps in averting any snags. They also act as a shield which prevents the release latch from getting accidentally activated. The Magpul CTR has a supplemental friction lock system. This helps in minimizing excessive stock movement which is extremely necessary and important for ensuring weapon stability. The QD sling mount is flexible in its construction and can go with any type of push-button sling swivel. The Magpul CTR comes with a standard 0.30" rubber butt-pad. The pad is useful enough in preventing slippage and also enhances the grip one can have on the gear. The Magpul PRS is an extended rubber butt-pad. It comes in 0.80” size and can be used as an alternative to the standard rubber butt-pad that is generally used. The length of pull, consequently, is enhanced by a good 0.50” due to Magpul PRS. The Magpul PRS is compatible with PRS AR15 / M16 and AR10 / SR25 carbines. It is also compatible with the MOE® Rifle Stock. Setting up the Magpul PRS is a cakewalk because it simply mounts on the existing hardware and no accessory or special parts are needed. Both, the Magpul CTR and the Magpul PRS can be used along with other accessories, either to enhance the utility of these parts or that of the rifle as a whole.
