Sulfur(a) is one of the Allotropes of sulfur. There are a large number of allotropes of sulfur. In this respect, sulfur is second only to carbon. The most common form found in nature is yellow orthorhombic Sulfur(a), which contains puckered rings of S. However, elemental sulfur can also be produced by reducing H2S, commonly found in oil and natural gas. For the most part though, sulfur is used to produce SO2(g) and H2SO4.
