Ping is great at giving a nice low profile that is very appealing to most golfers. It might have just been in our heads when we were testing but it seemed that the Ping G25 Fairway Wood was the easiest club to take away in your backswing. The traditionally shaped head has a non-reflective, matte black finish with an easily visible alignment mark. Hits are smooth with a little different sound that most fairways, almost muted. Feedback to the hands is clear without being bothersome. I really liked the stock 360 ID8 grip on the G25. With the looks of the club as well as the performance of the club we would recommend this club really to any golfer. It would definitely be the biggest help for mid-handicappers or maybe some high-handicappers that might like to use it off the tee to find the fairways more often. Also the club head itself seems to be a bit smaller than the Ping G20 irons. The sound was a little duller than the G20 but the trajectory was possible a little more penetrating thanks to that marginal increase in ball speed. Combined with the better player looks, this is an ideal club for mid-handicappers or those who want a 'put-it-in-the-fairway' club from the tee. You can see the screw weight in the back of the sole section, which again is a visual change that some will like more than others. The other visual change is the head size which is a little smaller than the G20 fairway. It is still a generous head size, but a little shorter from heel to toe. It does sit very well at address and the usual Ping low profile gives you the feeling of being able to sweep the ball away very easily. Similar to the Ping G25 Driver, the fairways launch the ball with minimal ball spin, which result in straighter shots. Just for a little game with myself at the range, I sighted between two trees about 10 feet apart and tried to see how many I could land. Amazingly enough that was about 8 out of 10, and the ones that I didn’t hit weren’t too far off line. If you are looking for a new fairway wood, the Ping G25 would be a great choice. Check out the top 5 fairway clubs we tested and see what you think. Source from: http://www.naszedzieci.co.uk/article-524-Ping-G25-Fairway-Wood-has-a-very-generous-club-head.html
