Pain & Gain actor Anthony Mackie, 35 has been arraigned on two misdemeanor counts of drunken driving in New York City. The actor was arrested in Harlem and was released after appearing in Manhattan Criminal Court on 9th November.
The 35 year old actor Anthony Mackie was arrested for allegedly driving drunk early at 1.30 a.m. on 9th November in New York City after he was pulled over for his tinted windows. But, soon the officer noticed Mackie’s eyes were bloodshot and claimed that there was the smell of alcohol coming from the “Gangster Squad” actor’s breath. DUI Lawyer Manhattan Paul D. Petrus, Jr. saysa bout DUI in NYC, “Legally, the original reason the officer stopped you need not be related to driving while intoxicated from alcohol or drugs. In fact, routine stops for broken taillights, out-dated registration or even cracked windshields have been upheld across the country as sufficient cause for officers to detain individuals and then to check symptoms for driving under the influence. According to the complaint, he was operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and while impaired by alcohol. He had the smell of alcohol on his breath, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. He told an officer he’d had one beer. Mackie refused to take a Breathalyzer test to measure his blood-alcohol level.
