While in Singapore, Cai and his counterparts from the ASEAN membernations, Japan and South Korea also called on Singapore PrimeMinister Lee Hsien Loong. Lee said the Singapore governmentattached great importance to the ASEAN+3 and the China-ASEANcultural cooperation.

Cai said that the consensus achieved at the ASEAN+3 cultureministerial meeting are set to help push forward the regionalcooperation, and that the establishment of the China-ASEAN cultureministerial meeting mechanism will also help the countries turn anew leaf in cultural cooperation, which, in turn, will contributeto the growth of the ties. Cai left Singapore for Beijing on Saturday.
