When you hear the name LPG, you might misconceive that it is gas stored inside those bottles. The truth is that, it is liquid stored under pressure inside the bottles or cylinders. These cylinders and bottles come with a variety of accessories imperative to its operation. Some additional accessories can ease its use, and can be purchased through any authorized gas equipment manufacturer. An LPG changeover valve is one amongst the important accessories required for both residential and commercial purposes. The Types Gas changeover valves are used when you are connecting two or more cylinders and bottles at a time. It is the best way to know when one bottle gets low opn gas or is empty, allowing you to switch to the other one that is full. They can be found as automatic and manually operated valves. Both have its own vantages. Automatic valves have been found to be extensively used in both commercial and residential properties these days. However, it is important to watch for the fuel indicators in the valves to learn whether it is time to replace an existing bottle or not. Automatic Changeover Valves An automatic changeover valve switches to the full cylinder or the reserve cylinder, once the service cylinder gets empty. The switching is automatic that you will barely notice when the gas in the cylinder gets over. Look for the red indicator that displays red constantly to let you know it is time to replace the cylinder. With automatic changeover, the other one can be replaced when the red indicator displays red. Once the cylinder is replaced, it becomes the reserve bottle, and the one switched over becomes the service cylinder. When it comes to connecting four cylinders, two become reserve group and the other two become service cylinders that are currently supplying gas to the cooking equipment. Manual Changeover A manual LPG changeover valve requires your involvement in switching over. It features a changeover knob that has to be turned to the reserve cylinder, when switched. Once the cylinder gets empty, the red indicator turns red so that you can turn the knob to the reserve cylinder. The service cylinder can be replaced once you see the red indicator. Most businesses go with automatic valves as it does not interrupt the supply of gas. Needless to say, restaurants and hotels make use of this so they get uninterrupted gas supply.
