Alternately, in case one chooses the spilt path, one may pass 640-822 ICND1 and 640-816 ICND2 to earn CCNA certification or one could also pass 100-101 and 200-101. Starting October 1st 2013 the previous exams will retire and will no longer be available to the public. They gave full six months to the professionals to get whatever exams they wish to work on and attain this most popular certification. If one is able to conquer the old modules, then there are no worries for you to study and conquer the new modules and sections. It goes without saying that one requires a little bit of additional studying but that may not take a great concern.
