Address Threats with Counter RCIED Counter RCIED Terrorism is real threat in the world today not only in the UK, but all over the world. Terrorists and insurgents are continuing to devise and develop the use of RCIED (Remote Controlled Improvised Explosive Devices (RCIED) to cause mass destruction of properties and human lives. It is in the light of this matter, that the UK government has also developed and adopted counter RCIED measures to deal with a likelihood of terrorist attacks. Some of the measures adopted by the UK to manage and control the threat of terrorism include the use of intelligence services, Military Training and latest electronic warfare technology. Intelligences measures The UK government has devised and deployed intelligence services to counter RCIED use by terrorists. Human Intelligence is one aspect of intelligence services, mainly concerned with the collection of information from human sources and populations at the local level. Human activities are quite important when it comes to obtaining the details of the planning and methods of executing the terrorist operations in the UK soil or UK interests abroad. Such intelligence is normally conducted by the police agencies and military personnel. Intelligence analysis is also conducted, coordinated and processed through the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR). This system incorporates the use of still and moving cameras, space platforms, sensors and signals communications to record the messages and capture images. Training of Operatives The other counter RCIED measures employed by the UK to deal with the threat of terrorist attacks involve the in house training and provision of support programs for military and law enforcement officers. Counter Threat training is meant to provide support to security personnel on how to respond to terrorist attacks in the UK soil and interests abroad. Part of the training program often addresses the understanding of technical and tactical schemes as organised by terrorists and how to support war fighters and homeland security operations, bomb disposals, military forensic and intelligent operations, Technical and physical surveillance operations, how to conduct searches under the water, in the vehicles and buildings and understanding the tactics used by terrorists or resurgents. Latest Electronic Warfare technology Part of the measures to Counter RCIED in the UK also entails the use of latest technology to defeat the RCIEDs. The latest technology includes the jamming equipment and RF inhibitors. This equipment can provide a wide range of protection and deterrence against any possible terrorist threat. Some of the latest technological equipment and gadget also involved the Electronic War systems which are effective for use in places where terrorism is a real threat. They are useful for searching and identifying the source of terrorist devices. Furthermore, these latest computer aided electronic systems are useful in intercepting any immediate threat on a target person, facilities or a place. The Electronic Warfare system comes in three parts. The first includes the Electronic Attack (EA) which neutralises and destroys any arsenal that is directed at a place, facility or a person. The second part is known as Electronic Protection (EP) which is mainly useful for protecting or destroying any friendly fire against an equipment, personnel or facilities. Meanwhile, the third aspect of the Electronic War fare includes the use of signal and communications systems like radars and electronic intercepts applications.
