First and foremost…congratulations on your weight loss success! I commend you and how hard you must have tried to lose weight, your dedication, and your willingness to succeed. You did a fabulous job and you should be feeling amazing.

But there’s one thing missing. You did so good and worked so hard but your efforts did not magically firm all the loose and saggy skin you now have from your weight loss.

I’m sure you have thought about surgery. Thousands of dollars and so intrusive, and so painful. Why even go through all of that when there is an all-natural solution that will help you tremendously?

Here’s the thing with skin: Since it has to stretch as we move & grow, and as in the case of weight loss--shrink, skin is an incredibly elastic living organ. Skin is not just one big piece of rubber that covers the entire body, but is instead an organ, and just like all the other organs in your body, it is comprised of cells. So what happens to your skin after you lose weight? When you lose weight, and especially when you lose weight very quickly, these elastic components of your skin not only lose the layers of fat that keep them stretched out over your body, but they also don’t have much time for their elasticity to adapt to your new shape.

Other factors that cause loose skin include age, poor nutrition, dehydration, excessive exposure to the sun, and smoking can all affect the elasticity of the skin.

Things to incorporate on a daily basis to help assist your loose skin include:

1. Drinking plenty of water. Aim for half your body weight in ounces for optimal results.

2. Eat a well-balanced diet full of vegetables, fruits, and whole grains. Two necessary ingredients that keep skin plump and elastic are collagen and elastin. Protein-rich foods such as cottage cheese, milk, legumes, tofu, beans, seeds, nuts, and fish all contain collagen and elastin forming components, as well as oils to help maintain healthy skin.

3. Exfoliate your skin and stay away from soaps with harsh sulfates.

Saggy skin after weight loss can absolutely be resolved. Your skin will benefit when you provide it with exactly what it needs to perform at its best.
