If you are looking to lose weight, you should consider yourself on a weight loss journey. There are so many programs available to help you. But how does anyone make a choice? Losing weight should be about making life style changes, not about speed. Fad and crash diets do not work. They are very unhealthy for you also. It is best to lose those extra pounds slowly. Aim for a goal to lose 1-2 lbs per week. If you have a lot of weight to lose, you may drop weight faster than this, especially in the beginning. We all have a different metabolism, so we all lose weight at different rates. The important thing to remember is that slower is better. Some weeks you may not lose any weight due to many different circumstances. Don’t beat yourself up. As long as you are doing what you are supposed to be doing…eating healthy foods and getting your exercises in….you are doing a great job. Some weeks you may lose several pounds. Awesome! It probably took you many years to gain the extra weight. Perhaps you have struggled with being overweight all of your life. So, don’t expect or try to lose the weight rapidly. Starving yourself will lead to frustration and you most likely will resume your old poor eating habits quickly. Depriving yourself of enough calories usually means that you will not be getting enough of the proper nutrients that your body needs for healthy functioning. As long as you are changing your poor habits, you are moving in the right direction. No one is perfect and you are expected to slip now and then. Give yourself a break. It’s ok. Just get back on your weight loss journey with your next meal. When you see your weight decreasing, you will get more and more motivated to continue eating properly and exercising. Your body will adjust to the proper nutrition. You will feel better and like the changes to your body. As you lose weight exercising will get easier for you also. Then you will most likely want to increase your exercise since your tolerance will improve. Your weight loss journey will change your life for the better. Think of all of the health benefits that you will receive. Your family and friends will be commenting on how amazing you look. Perhaps a new wardrobe will be in your future. click here for more information and to check out my free website
