There are many people who would like to join a motor club for the emergency roadside assistance programs they offer. This program allows people who are out driving to gain assistance and service from a professional at the site of their breakdown. This is a very important feature, because often, the car will not be able to make it to a local auto mechanic shop or gas station. Each roadside assistance program has different offerings, but some of the offerings are more common than others. We will look at some of the coverage's of a typical plan. 1. Battery boost is a great offering that can help people who have a car battery that has died. When a car battery is dead, it is possible for another car to “jump” the battery, but someone needs to have jumper cables available. The motor club will send out a tow truck to jump your battery and if that fails then you will get towed to a service station or automotive repair shop. Most motor offer free towing for 50 to 100 miles. 2. Roadside assistance also includes fuel delivery services for people who run out of gas. It is sometimes impossible to get a car to the next gas station, and you just happen to run out of gas in the middle of no where or in the middle of traffic. One call to your motor club service and they will have fuel delivery on its way. Most motor will deliver 2 gallons of gas which is usually enough to get you to the closest gas station. 3. If you happen to get a flat tire and you are unable to change it you will find that the roadside assistance plan will cover this and other related problems. A professional will be sent out to replace your flat tire. If it is multiple flat tires then a tow truck will be sent. 4. Lock out services are very helpful for people who lock their keys in their car and end up locked out. The lock out services will come to the vehicle location and will assist in opening up the vehicle and getting the keys out. It can be very frustrating to lock keys in the car and have absolutely no way to get them out, so it is a really nice roadside assistance feature to have a lock out service available. 5. Wrecker towing service is probably one of the most important services you can have. If your car breaks down and is out of service, and the common fixes above do not work, then you will be towed to the shop of your choice within a set mileage. Most plans will tow your car or truck 50 miles and some services even offer 100 miles of free towing. The towing service is a great option for vehicles that have engine trouble and probably the most important of all the services. Emergency roadside assistance is a great program for people who are thinking about joining a motor club. The roadside assistance program offers help to drivers with issues listed above. This is also the basic plan that almost all motor clubs offer. For a higher premium you can get added services like trip planning, maps, hotel discounts and more but for most people they just want the piece of mind of the basic roadside assistance plans.
