If an artist has contract issues, licensing issues, recording issues, or copyright infringement issues, the music lawyer will handle them. The business manager makes sure that the artist’s financial life is in good order by filing the artist’s taxes, paying the artist’s bills, making appropriate investments for the artist, and keeping track of the artist’s money. This member of the artist management team can also determine whether the artist is being paid for what he or she should do. You do not have to necessarily have all these people in your artist management team because the most important person who will be doing most of the work for you is the music agent or the music manager.
