128 comments so far Longish hair, any colour, looks beautiful on most woman. Short hair is not my preference at all. Commenter Victorious Painter Location Date and time June 08, 2012, 7:55AM Long hair on older woman is really mutton dressing up to look likelamb. Even worse if the woman in question has thin, stringy hairand doesn't colour it. Commenter Lotus Location Sydney Date and time June 08, 2012, 11:20AM @VP: Agreed. Long hair on women typically looks more attractive. That doesn'tmean there's anything wrong with short hair, it's just somethingwomen should be aware of. As for Kat cutting her hair, people are more likely to preferthings they are familar with and they are more likely to prefer tobe around attractive people, so by cutting her hair she's copping adouble whammy. However, women who want to be perceived as more mature will usuallytake action to appear less attractive; it's just a part of growingup. Commenter Direct Location Date and time June 08, 2012, 12:00PM @Lotus, Some 20 years back I worked with a lady over a 3 yearperiod, she was about mid 50"s, her hair was about mid backand not coloured. As a youngster I certainly admired her beauty and elegance, herhair was just a small component of the total person. Commenter Victorious Painter Location Date and time June 08, 2012, 12:50PM Hello Lotus You mean "mutton dressed as mutton"? ;) Commenter BeachBoy Location Date and time June 08, 2012, 1:00PM @Beach Boy - long hair is something to be given up when you hit 50,just like short skirts. You ain't gonna look like you are 20 againEVER, so age gracefully. Commenter Lotus Location Sydney Date and time June 08, 2012, 1:25PM I hope that soon women may shave or prematurely remove their hair, and just as bald men no longer conjure up images of neo-nazis, thebald female meanings are forgotten too. It costs upwards of $50kfor a successful transplant, but for a few $k laser and/orelectrolysis is available. I won't go through the attitudes peoplehave had over the years about my male hair. I believe a clean, hairless, bald head for everyone would be best, except perhaps inextreme countries, like image obsessed USA. Commenter redblackgold Location Date and time June 08, 2012, 8:30AM Well bald does suit better guys who are near bald. And way betterthan draping a few strands over their head. Never figured on theneo-nazis thing. And yes, hair has always conjured up conceptions of virility inmen. But don't know if it's truth or myth. Hair length doesn't seem to make different in women. Bringing back to women. Some do the bald thing and look seriouslyhot. But head shape has a lot to do with it. And only a few womencan pull the look off. Commenter Dave Location Date and time June 08, 2012, 9:32AM Seems you've been getting a hard time recently. Remember it isvanity and that when a women says you are beautiful you need dosomething about your appearance. When they criticize, you'relooking good. (Envy?) Reckon the short in the header suits her, but wouldn't you. Thelength you have it now looks good, possibly better than longer.Which brings to the most important. It's the style that suits you. Perhaps rely on the guys opinion more. (Unless you're trying tohook up with the girls) Don't recall the % number of women with short or long. Never anissue. But long is probably more a young thing phase. A bit of comehither. But women tend like sheep. But they call it followers of fashion.Trends come - and go. Remember the days of all long and bouffant hairdos. Then cameTwiggy in the 60's and the girls all cut it way short. The pageboywas the look. Bouffant never came back. (It was a bit weird. Andgirls got way concerned about it in bed) The blonde. (Not my preference). Came in later. Buggered if I knowwhy. My preference? If pushed, would probably go for shortish and tidy.Whatever the style. But I'm a contradiction on that. And yes, you do get judged onhair, especially length. And I don't give a stuff. (Anyone who judges on looks alone - I also judge you) Stopped getting (accepted) hair cuts after a string of peoplecouldn't, or wouldn't, cut it as I wanted,, and charged heaps.Like, I can have a mess for free. And mine is longer than yourswas,, and more of it. If you are happy with your choice,,, it's you who gets to live withit. Commenter Dave Location Date and time June 08, 2012, 9:22AM I had a girlfriend with a crew cut (#5 maybe?). It didn't bother meat all, it suited her. Just like with men, it works for some peopleand doesn't for others. Hair just dilutes and distracts fromwhatever else you have to work with in terms of bone structure, complexion, facial symmetry, so reducing it needn't be a bad thing.I thought Natalie Portman still looked gorgeous with cropped hair.I prefer my partner having short hair, it means I can still breathwhen spooning in bed, which is always good. CK, you really should have posted a photo of yourself with shorthair so we could judge. I imagine it could work for you. Happy Friday all!
