MCSE certification here is active only 3 years after it is received, hence it can be said that this is not application specific. The upgrade path For those who already have MCITP SharePoint, administrator certification they need to take one exam (70-417) in order to become an MCSA Windows Server 2012 using the upgrade path. This new model hence shows that Microsoft SharePoint certifications is now a base level credential needed to get a foundational level understanding of the operating system.
