Choose the Best Approach of Using Steam in Carpet Cleaning for Safety

Home Improvement,Health,Family & Parenting
No carpet is really strain-proof since over the time of usage, the carpet's fibers keep on trapping oils, dirt and even bacteria, all of which can discolor your carpet and leave it with unpleasant odors and stains.Cleaning your carpet does not have to cost a lot of money nor does it have to entail using harsh, toxic chemicals in your home. In fact, it does not have to mean using any special store bought rug cleaning products at all! Here are secrets, tips and tricks that the best stream cleaning firms use to keep carpets cleaner for longer.

Before you start out the rigorous carpet cleaning process, test a small hidden area of the carpet such as that area that goes inside the closet before starting to use the extra-strength steam cleaning product you might have bought. This is to ensure that you do not burn the carpet or turn its color. In addition to that, ensure that you contact the manufacturer of the steam cleaner, if you have one, for recommended non-chemical cleaning solutions.

Steam Clean without Toxic Chemical Solutions. There are times that you will need to steam clean your carpet. (You can easily rent a machine if you do not have one.) Skip the chemical solution and try this safer one instead. (If desired, you can steam clean without any cleaning solution except the hot water. This will still achieve your goal of eliminating the dirt.)

Steam Cleaner Solution:Lightly mix 3 tablespoons of liquid dish soap, (mixing too heavily might cause too many soap bubbles in the machine) 1 ½ cups of white vinegar, and 1 1/2 gallons of warm water. To add a hint of fragrance, drop a few droplets of lavender oil into the mixture and stir.

After steam cleaning your carpet, remember it is important to keep the room well ventilated to reduce the risk of mold and musty odors. Simply keep a fan on and open the windows to aid in the drying process.

Secrets for Steam Carpet Cleaning

Sometimes people run to the store to find the best cleaning agents for their carpets. Steam cleaning is one of the best methods of cleaning carpets, but it can be bolstered with the addition of a few detergents here and there. However, one of the secrets of carpet cleaning firms is not to use chemical detergents from the drug store but solutions that can be made using ingredients right under your nose.

Steam alone is enough to remove all the germs and bacteria. Pure water from your tap might be all you need in order to freshen up the rags and carpets in your house. You can however, try baking soda to remove any odors and stains that might be stubborn. Pet stains are easily removed this way before steam cleaning is done.

Also, avoid steam cleaning on humid summer days or during cold winter days. Warm, dry days are the best because you will be able to air out the space under the carpeting and do away with an overlay steamy house that might be resultant of the process of cleaning.
