How to Put Movies From iTunes on Your Flash Drive

By default, Apple iTunes creates an index on your computer's hard drive of all the media in your iTunes library, which you must access in order to transfer files to your flash drive. Make sure your flash drive has enough free space to store your movies, as feature-length videos may be large in size. Please note that some movies purchased from the iTunes store are copy-protected, which may prevent you from copying them to external devices.

Instructions 1 Plug your flash drive into the USB port on your computer and wait for your system to recognize the device. Open your flash drive's contents. Choose a folder or other location on your flash drive where you want the movies copied to.

2 Quit iTunes, if opened. Locate your indexed iTunes folder. For Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 users, this is located in your "My Music" folder. For Mac OS X users, the iTunes library is located in the "Music" folder in your username folder's contents.

Open your indexed iTunes folder and locate the movie(s) you want transferred to your flash drive.

4 Drag and drop the movie icon(s) into the previously determined location on your flash drive and wait for them to copy.

Tips & Warnings Open iTunes. Click "Edit" and select "Preferences" (if on a PC) or "iTunes" then "Preferences" (if on a Mac) and click the "Advanced" tab. Your indexed library is located under the "iTunes Media Folder Location" field.
