Often times, your employees get just as frustrated with the time-consuming staffing process as you do because they are the ones that have to keep the operations running. The longer you take to find a person, the longer they spend doing more work. The next time you have IT staffing needs, it is simply easier to call a recruiter. You can meet with the recruiter, let them see your operations, and get to know the environment in which employees are working. This will make it easier for the recruiter to not only find someone who is qualified to do the position but who also has the personality type that will work best within your facility. Whether you are a startup company or your company has been around for years, IT staffing is likely the bane of your existence. This is because it is a time-consuming project. You have to promote the job openings, collect resumes, conduct interviews, and then make a final hiring decision. All of this can take weeks in order for you to have a few new staff members. This is likely time that you do not have. The main reason that IT staffing is so time-consuming is because there are no shortcuts that you can take. While you may be using technology to save you a little bit of time, the truth of the matter is that you still have to post openings and wait for resumes to come in. You may not have to comb through the resumes manually because of having some sort of applicant tracking system, but it will still take you time to go through the system in order to find qualified individuals. More and more companies are beginning to use recruiting companies. Recruiting companies will provide you with a recruiter that specializes in IT so that you can begin to find people qualified for all of your open positions. You give the recruiter a list of openings and then they find you people. This means that they are doing the job posting, the resume collecting, and preliminary interviews. Everyone that your recruiter sends your way is completely qualified for the job. There is no reason not to work with an IT recruiting company. While you do have to pay a finder’s fee to the recruiter each time they find you a qualified individual, this is still going to be less than what you would have to pay in total on your own. Especially if you look at the lost man-hours that it’s taking you to do the recruiting, it is much easier to simply pay a recruiter. IT staffing can be handled in under a week.
