Managed IT solutions are going to cost you some money because you have to pay another company to manage the IT aspect of your business. Before you pass it off as something you can't afford, think again. There are three ways that you can save money by hiring an IT company. They can work on various aspects of your business and manage things in the background so you never have to think about them. #1: Improved Productivity If you're stopping periodically to work on IT issues, you are not working on the other areas of your business. Each time you stop and start, you lose a significant amount of time. If you're in the average business world, time directly equals money. If you had managed IT solutions in place, you wouldn't have to stop and start. The IT company would be managing everything for you so you never have to worry about anything. In most instances, they'll notice something and fix it before you even have a chance to think about it - and this is why it's worth it to pay someone else to deal with the headache of IT. #2: Fewer Employees to do the Work You may be fortunate enough to have some employees on staff that are responsible for your IT department. They may be focusing on your network, your internet connection, and data security. However, they may not be as knowledgeable as you think they are. Unless you are running security audits periodically, there may be holes in the system that you are unaware of. The last thing you want to deal with is a data security breach. If you were to focus more on managed IT solutions that can offer the things that your employee cannot - like data security, website design, and even hosted phone systems, you won’t have to place as many employees in the IT department. You may still want one or two, but you may be able to cut your IT department in half. The money that you spend with an IT company will be a savings at that point. #3: Reduced or Eliminated Downtime If you have downtime on your internet connection or your website, it's going to cause problems - and cost money. For example, if you don't have an internet connection, you cannot process credit cards. If you can't accept credit cards on a day, customers may get frustrated and leave. Depending upon who your competition is and how close they are to you, customers may not return - and that's because of a single incident. The same can be said about your website. Whether the server went down or you didn't have enough bandwidth to accommodate all of your site visitors, you need to make sure your website is up and running all the time. If you don't have managed IT solutions, your website could go down without you even realizing it. This could cost a lot of money. When you have downtime, it's going to cost you money because of not realizing the full potential of sales. If you simply had your IT managed, you would be able to make the money – and that's why these solutions are going to save you money in the end.
