When your degree is in IT and you are searching for a job, it is important to use an IT recruiter. It doesn't cost you anything because they are paid by the company that eventually hires you. This means that they are simply working for you in order to fill the job openings that they have been hired to do. They are going to save you a significant amount of time and help you to find a better job - and usually a better paying job. There are three things that an IT recruiter will do for you that you wouldn't be able to do for yourself. Review Your Resume You may think that you have a pretty good resume, but it may be lacking in several different areas. If you have submitted your resume around town and you haven't gotten any interviews, it may be due to your resume. It may be laid out in an old-fashioned way or it may be lacking some content. An IT recruiter looks at resumes each and every day and they know what companies like and don't like. By having a recruiter review your resume, you can find out what needs to be done to enhance it. You may need to attend some seminars, you may need to sign up for an internship, or you may need to change up the format a little bit. Either way, it's better to find out about your resume now so that you can actually begin to find a job. Find Jobs An IT recruiter is going to find jobs for you. This means that you don't have to trouble yourself with the whole job search. You submit your resume to the recruiting company and they take it from there. This is highly advantageous because they have access to jobs that you don't. If you are looking on the various job websites, you may be missing out on a whole array of other jobs simply because those companies are also using recruiters. Set Up Interviews Your interviews will be set up by your IT recruiter. As they start to share your resume around to the different companies and they match your credentials up to the credentials required for different positions, you will find that you have more interviews than ever before. All you have to do is tell you recruiter when you are and are not available for interviews and they will set them up. Additionally, they will run you through some of the questions that the HR department may ask you. Having a pre-interview can save you a significant amount of embarrassment and ensure that you have the right answers for all of the questions being asked of you. Ultimately, an IT recruiter is going to help you in ways that you wouldn't be able to help yourself. You need to find a job and if you are working alone, it may take a while to find one that you are happy with.
