As we all know, the Ping K15 series includes drivers, fairway woods, hybrids and irons. And all the cheap golf clubs are designed to fill the so-called “super game-improvement” segment. Ping’s K15 series is filled out with hybrids and irons that are designed to promote that same “square-at-impact” club position as they also make it easier for players to launch the ball higher and hit it with greater distance and accuracy. A multi-metal iron design features a large, lightweight titanium face and a 17-4 stainless steel body, with the weight that has been saved from the face allocated to the sole and perimeter. Straight Flight Technology is designed into the Ping K15 Driver. It concentrates more weight in the sole near the heel of the club. That enables players to rotate the clubface to a more square impact position, which leads to longer, straighter shots. That technology is the key feature of the K15 driver, which is available in three loft options (9.5, 10.5 and 12 degrees), and also the fairway metals, which come in 3, 5 and 7. The Ping K15 Fairway Wood includes 3-wood (16 degree), 5 (19 degree) and 7 (22 degree). They are ideal for those who struggle with fairways. The SF Tec (Straight Flight Technology) ‘bulge’ on the heel side of the sole is subtle and helps to turn the club over at impact to reduce the likelihood of a fade. The head is oversized and with a longer, deeper face the Ping G15 fairway wood and this provides excellent levels of forgiveness. As the head the larger than standard it gives a great zing sound at impact and the feel is very good too. The flight is a little higher than a G15 fairway, but not much and as long as you are not playing in windy conditions, mid-handicappers could consider this club too. Overall the K15 is a great fairway wood for higher handicappers.
