For Handloom printing, the artisan first sketches the design on the fabric using a pen like device for printing. The design is drawn little bit bigger than the required. Then the design will be glued on to the wooden block, which is called as stamp. Then the designer may print or press the stamp on to the original. It is to be made sure that the stamp should be released carefully without moving it side to side at all.

Then the resulted print should be dried fully. Finally, artisan paints the design with desired hues and shades. The main colours used in Block printing are Red, blue, Yellow and Saffron. The motifs like flowers, birds, animals, trees, fruits and humans postures etc are designed intricately.
