Ping Tour players Bubba Watson and Hunter Mahan put the adjustable G25 driver plus the G25 irons in play at the PGA Tour. Below are many brief introductions. Ping G25 Driver Ping says the G25 driver has the largest profile and is the most forgiving clubhead design it has offered to date. It certainly has striking looks with its charcoal, non-glare finish. The clubhead is 460cc in volume, titanium, with an ultra-thin crown, but with internal structural support in the crown, sole and skirt intended to create a solid feel and sound. The center of gravity position is lower and deeper than in previous Ping G20 driver. The adjustable- hosel Ping G25 driver is offered in four lofts - 8.5, 9.5, 10.5 and 12 degrees - but each of those lofts is adjustable up or down by a half-degree. The adjustable hosel is the same diameter as Ping's fixed hosels, and the company calls its system "Trajectory Tuning Technology." The hosel adjustments that affect loft are made using a Ping wrench. Ping G25 irons The Ping G25 irons are high-launching, game-improvement implements with a dark, non-glare matte finish. The boost to launch angle is achieved in part through Ping's Custom Tuning Port, which is ingetrated into the sole to move more of the clubhead's mass low. The CTP also aligns behind the clubface's impact zone, another way of lowering the center of gravity and boosting MOI. It also helps create a solid impact feel - something Ping addresses in other ways, too: support bars in the cavity, plus a cavity badge, help create solid feel and sound. The profile is sleeker with thinner toplines and moderate offset. The sole widths are progressive through the set, wider in the long irons for more forgiveness and assistance with launch angle, less-wide in the short irons for control.
