Heaters are electronic, electric or electro-chemical devices that are used to produce heat. They are extensively used in industrial purposes to aid in various types of manufacturing functions. Different types of heaters are used for carrying out industrial functions, which include cartridge heater, ceramic heater, infra-red (IR) heaters, mica band heaters, finned air heater, immersion heaters, coil heaters, cast-in heaters and electric heaters. Some of these are discussed below in brief. Ceramic Band Heaters Ceramic band heaters or ceramic heaters as they are popularly known as are devices that produce heat through ceramic baffles. The ceramic baffles are firmly embedded with heating wires. When electrical power circulates through the ceramic baffles it causes the device to heat up. Compared to other conventional heating devices, ceramic heaters are far more energy efficient, which is why they are often preferred in industrial sectors. Ceramic heaters are generally portable devices that can be used for different types of small room applications. Cartridge Heaters Cartridge heaters are generally made up of a single long cartridge-like tube and they are made out of nickel-chrome resistant wire. These heaters can produce heat up to 400 C. The heaters can be used for various types of industrial purposes such as packaging machinery, injection molding and extrusion process. They are used in food processing industries as well. Mica Band Heaters Mica band heaters are composed of nickel-chrome resistance ribbon that is carefully wound on a sheet of mica. These heaters can produce heat to up to 500 C temperature, and are most suitable for applications that require a low to medium range of temperature. Mica band heaters are particularly used in industrial applications such as extrusions, plastic processing and injection/blow molding. Infra-red (IR) Heaters Infra-red heaters or IR heaters are devices that produce heat by using infra red lights. They convert the electrical energy to infra-red rays for producing heat. As a result, these devices serve as environment-friendly and cost effective means to produce heat for different types of industrial applications such as paper coating drying, paint baking, curing and rubber coating drying. Immersion heaters Immersion heaters are used to heat oil, water or any other type of liquids used for industrial applications. They are equipped with a coil wound around a long bar that increases the surface area used for heating. The device has to be submerged in the liquid for it to get heated. These heating devices are used in chemical plants, oil filtration plants, electroplating industry and fertilizers industries. Heating elements are the backbone of many industries. There are many industrial heaters suppliers in India, who can fulfill your requirement of heaters.
