First of all it’s important to know what uterine fibroids are and what symptoms to look for. The good news is that the fibroids are non-cancerous benign tumors that develop in the uterus and are to a large extent, preventable. The bad news is that there are no typical symptoms. However, just because there are no symptoms, doesn‘t mean they don’t cause problems. A few of the more common problems associated with uterine fibroids are painful cramps, excessive bleeding, a bloated feeling in the abdomen, and possibly even miscarriages. Tests have found that women with high levels of estrogen have the tendency to develop fibroids. To help prevent them, estrogen levels need to be monitored and regulated. One way this can be achieved is by eating a healthy diet, maintaining a healthy weight, raise fiber intake and reducing sugar, caffeine, and saturated fat. If your exercise regime and diet are right, then half the battle is won. To find out if you actually have fibroids, you just need to have a pelvic exam or by having an ultrasound. Fibroids can be removed with surgery, treated with natural remedies or with over the counter medication. Surgery comes with many risks and is therefore the last resort. Over the counter meds have a tendency to just treat the symptoms and not get to the root of the problem. Just like weeds, if you don’t get the root, the weed will grow back. The same goes for fibroids. You must get to the root. Fibroids must be treated holistically by reducing estrogen levels, stress and obesity. The hormones must also be balanced and there are several herbs that will help. An example of the herbs would be cinnamon, Echinacea, ginger, yarrow, etc. to combat the ill-effects of fibroids. If your situation is not serious, it would be wise to try the natural methods first. Some herbs mentioned before will help control the bleeding while others will actively shrink the fibroids over time. Consistency is the key. Don’t forget to keep your doctor in the loop. If he feels that your fibroids are serious and need to be taken care of immediately, then you may need to follow his advice. However, if he says they are not serious, then holistic may be the way to go. Something to remember is that you developed fibroids naturally so it would make sense to treat them naturally. If you go online you should be able to find many guides to help treat your fibroids holistically and end your problems. Give them a try and benefit as many women already have.
