SINGAPORE, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- China head coach Jose Antonio Camacho said at a pre-match conference here on Monday that the Chinese national football team needs to witness more changes and improve by competing more. The Chinese team needs to boost their training over the next couple of years and try to "improve by competing more" in the matches, the Spaniard told the press conference ahead of a world cup qualifier match between China and Singapore. Both teams have few chances to enter the next round as Singapore has had lost all the first four matches so far and China only beat Singapore 2-1 at home but lost to Jordan once and Iraq twice. Jordan and Iraq were the leaders in Group A. "We all agree that the Chinese team needs to change (over the coming years). I think there are many places where I see room for change. We need to train more, compete more to get better," Camacho said. He did not specify what changes he think is necessary, which is not surprising given that he has taken over as head coach for just three months and shortly before the World Cup group qualifiers began. Camacho declined to comment on whether he would continue to work as the Chinese head coach going ahead, saying that he had answered the question after China lost to Iraq to be virtually out of the game.
