Reason for abandonment Abandoned child is often termed as social orphan, meaning parents are alive but left their child or shrugged their responsibilities. It is a great damage to a child, and on a larger picture society. There are many homeless kids in Australia whose responsibilities are on social service organizations. There can be plenty of reasons of child abandonment. The biggest reason is economic condition of parents who no longer able to sustain the burden of a child. Some young parents feel they are not capable of taking burden of a raising a child, and thus find an easy way out. Sometimes, both mother and father turn out to be addicts or accuse of criminal offenses, so they are forced to abandoned their children. Whatever the reason, child abandonment is a serious criminal offense and it leads impairment of children as well as society.
