How to Replace a LED Stereo Receiver Car stereo systems are evolving to also play back DVD videos through an attached LED monitor. The monitor displays the video, shows off the current audio track and may also have a built-in GPS function. If you are looking to change your current LED stereo receiver, you can do so with just a few household tools. And because the new LED stereo monitor receiver is going to have the same connection points, you shouldn't have too much trouble setting up the equipment. Instructions 1 Turn off the vehicle and remove the key from the ignition. You don't want the car running when dealing with electrical wires connected to the battery. 2 Remove the dash area around the current LED stereo receiver. Most dashboards are attached without screws and pull off with some prying. Check your owner's manual for complete instructions. Slide out the LED stereo receiver and disconnect the wire cable running into its back. Once the receiver is free of the cable you can completely pull the receiver out of the vehicle. 4 Plug the wire cable into the connection port on the back of the new LED stereo receiver. If the receiver is the same brand, you can just slide it back into the vehicle. If it is a new brand, you will need a sleeve adapter to ensure it fits into the available slot. The receiver slides into the adapter and two Phillips screws attach into the rear of the sleeve to tighten it to the receiver. 5 Push the new LED stereo receiver into the open slot, then place the dash back into position to secure the LED stereo receiver into place.
