This marks the first time the epic collection of Chinese and European porcelain has been showcased at the National Museum. "Passion for Porcelain" exhibits 148 masterpieces, many of which show how European and Asian cultures have mingled over the past centuries. Chinese porcelain traveled across the ocean to Europe hundreds years ago, bringing Chinese elements into European utensils; at the same time, European craftsmanship and design ideas were introduced in China. The development of porcelain on both sides reveals the history of art development and the cultural mix of East and West. The exhibition, which will run until Jan. 2013, is one of the featured programs of the “UK NOW-British Art and Creative Industry Festival,” the largest-ever British art festival held in China.
