Manager dies after saving 10 in fire A 28-year-old company boss from Nantong was killed, after saving ten of his employees, in a dormitory fire in Yantai, Shandong province at midnight on July 2. Zhou Jiangjiang, general manager of Yantai branch of Tongzhou Construction Company, was the first to notice the fire that broke out on the third floor of a dormitory building at around 0:40 am. He knocked at all other doors to rush the sleeping employees inside downstairs with him, then went back to the third floor to rescue anther two, after knowing they were still trapped there. When firefighters discovered Zhou later, he had already died due to suffocation, his cell phone lying aside with a fire call record. â??Had Mr Zhou not run inside twice to wake us up, we probably would have been killed,â?� recalled Chen Yubin, a rescued employee. â??His room was near the escape stairs. He could have rushed down first.â?� Zhou was the only son of his family. He came to Yantai with his father to start business. After finishing his financial studies at Suzhou University, he went back to Yantai to help his father with business.
