A cooling tower is specialized equipment used in industries across the globe. It is a heat exchanger device wherein air and water are brought in direct contact so as to reduce the temperature of water circulating through the tower. Working Mechanism In industrial cooling tower, water is pumped to the tower through pipes. The water gushes through nozzles, spraying into the fill material, which in turn slows the water flow through the tower. As water flows down through the equipment, it comes in contact with the air, which is being pulled through the cooling tower fan. When water is exposed to the air, evaporation takes place thereby creating a cooling action. The cooled water is then pumped back to the equipment where it becomes reheated. The warm water is then circulated to the tower to be cooled again. Cooling Towers are prime requisite for industries which requires cooling for long hours. For suppose, businesses dealing with air conditioning, refrigeration, steel manufacturing, sugar manufacturing, petroleum refining and many more look for robust equipment to serve the purpose of cooling all throughout the work process. Using FRP in Industries: The growing number of industries and manufacturing houses around the world has increased the demand for cooling towers. However, complications caused by heat-a major byproduct of many manufacturing houses have become a key challenge for engineers and technicians. To overcome the challenge, experts have come up with the cooling towers made from Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP). Companies are now designing cooling products with multi cell feature which ensures high water flow rates and optimum level of cooling as per varied industrial requirement. The tower reads the changing atmospheric conditions and manipulates the speed of the motor accordingly thereby saving tremendous electricity. Related Articles -
