I have been a subscriber for several years now, and consider it to be one of the very best entertainment investments I have ever made. For several pounds a month I have watched hundreds of shows that are amazing and enjoy pictures that are new constantly, it's amazing value. However something occurred last year that caused it to be even better, something I want to share with you. Everything happened when my partner and I got addicted to the Sci-fi series - Lost, you understand the one where they're stuck on a desert island. Netflix had all 70 odd episodes although it was a few years after launch and we saw one most for weeks. Then unexpectedly we sat down to see, episode 50 something and I really couldn't locate it anywhere. I thought this was a temporary glitch however a week later it still had not returned, and so I started searching the web. We discovered thousand like us who had located the show had completely gone from no warning Netflix or anything - we were left stranded in mid season. In one of many outraged places I found online, there was a clue that I followed up. Seemingly it had been only the UK version which had deleted Lost, as a result of a licensing issue. It existed in the USA and Canadian version of Netflix, still it continued 'Lost'. Some weeks later I was in Chicago for a conference, and I clicked on my Netflix program to see whether it would still work. To my surprise, Netflix discovered I was in an alternate country and redirected me to the US version instead. It was incredible, there was so much more and a few of the films had hardly left the UK cinemas. Also there recorded in my favorites 'Lost' once more that was available. I did some more research and found out that it was through my IP address that my location was ascertained by Netflix and decided which version I should see, when I returned home. Netflix is actually a global account along with your subscription just follows you around wherever you happen to be. Luckily I knew that it was possible to switch your IP address, as I had used the trick when on foreign holidays to view the BBC online. I found a solution to switch my address briefly to a US one and logged into Netflix again. I efficiently doubled the number of films accessible to US, and was forthwith rerouted to the far superior me variant again. Just as notably my partner and I managed to look at the concluding episodes of 'Lost'.
