Many times whenever a traveler thinks about visiting Orlando, or perhaps for that case Central Florida the number one place they give thought to visiting are definitely the park areas. Of course, Orlando wouldn't be what it actually is lacking Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World and all of the other vacation destination. But still downtown Orlando has developed into a thriving central-city district having first-rate places to stay, dining establishments, retail outlets along with other attractions which should not be neglected. Recently we had an opportunity to spend some time in the heart of Orlando and it actually has a great deal to offer. Church Street has now for some time been the actual focal point within the heart of Orlando, and yes it continues to have some outstanding places to eat. Church Street will be a short walk towards the Amway Center, where the Orlando Magic basketball squad plays its home competitions, as well as other activities. The largest venue close by for top attractions, this will be a key center. Yet north from Church Street has evolved a tight-knit area of places to eat and nightlife spots. You will find a wide range of fun places that are in close distance. Just to the west from this area a few blocks is the Citrus Bowl complex. There are various activities which get held in this area, plus a shuttle service runs off of the city center vicinity to the complex. When you're in one of the numerous hotels within downtown Orlando you can catch all the eating in addition to city hotspots of this vicinity and still simply get the shuttle service into the Citrus Bowl area. This may be completed without having to ever stress about parking. Then to the east of this area will be Lake Eola Park. Rarely would you observe scenery so near to a city center area, since this is found in the heart of Orlando. There is a sidewalk around the lake that runs basically one mile and provides an outstanding walking trail. The Walt Disney amphitheater is there, and also has concert events and plays. You can also get a little time to just take it easy among the many beautiful flower beds. At this point you will experience a magnificent view of their Orlando skyline. Additionally, there are boat rentals available to paddle around Lake Eola. This really is an excellent spot for a see if you only would like to out of the bustling downtown district for a period of time. And all of this is certainly near Orlando International Airport. From the airport terminal you can get to central Orlando by local bus for $2 or with taxi for around $35. Plus most of the hotels offer free shuttle service.
