Whenever I read of pontoon boats for sale, I go back to an idea I've had on many an occasions. Sure, financial complications have stood in my way, sometimes even in a mocking manner, but the idea of finding the right pontoon boat for sale remains in the back of my mind. The few times I have been on the water I can rightly call exhilarating, especially when being able to pilot the boat. I don't know when the right occasion would be for browsing pontoon boats for sale. A birthday? Graduation? Fishing trip? I do know, though, exactly what I would plan for the maiden voyage. Can anyone say fantasy cinema? In case you don't know where I'm going with all of this, my first trip on a recently bought pontoon boat would be an "Apocalypse Now" fan voyage and screening. This movie, by the great Francis Ford Coppola, might just be the single greatest film ever made. Based on the book "Heart of Darkness" by Joseph Conrad, the movie adapts that story amazingly into the Vietnam War, creating both an important and profound landmark in explaining and expounding on war and a pop culture hit, for America and the rest of the world. The plot involves a group of soldiers travelling on a river by pontoon boat, heading towards potential doom. Sure, I haven't written it all out (yet), nor have I even begun saving up for the necessary supplies and licenses, but I can think of some ideas for how the day or night journey would go. For starters, I would love to retrofit the boat with a screen and projector. Of course, it would have to be done in the safest way possible, so proper planning is of most importance. A battery could power the projector and DVD player or laptop. If this scenario goes under, I could either bring a TV/DVD player combo for the trip or plan a screening at the end location of the trip. No matter what, the movie has to be seen, and seen in its entirety. Prior to boarding, all invited passengers will be asked to dress in army-related garb. Camouflage shirts and jeans are fine, but helmets and dog tags are even better. We'll listen to music from the movie soundtrack (maybe even The Doors on a repeated loop) while enjoying beverages and some tiny snacks. Would movie trivia before the movie be out of order? Absolutely not! Ideally, we'd start the trip with the movie, and at the end, arrive at the destination where torches are (safely) lit and tropical punch is served. Anytime I think of pontoon boats for sale, I think of "Apocalypse Now." Anytime I think of "Apocalypse Now," I think of a wonderful viewing party. And anytime I think of all of this, I imagine the thought becoming a reality-a living dream. When looking for pontoon boats for sale in Alabama, residents visit Hide-A-Way Harbor.
