In today world we should first of all know that we are all sales men and sales women. We are either selling a product or services. In other words we are in a business of convincing someone else to do what we want them to do. However, many have misconceived that CEO or business owners who make command decision have exceptional abilities. The truth is that you do not have to be exceptional to be a CEO. Anyone can be a CEO of a business because you are already making decision in your sphere of influence every day; you need to follow the foot path of those who were successful in their businesses. This simple fact has helped me in many fronts in my career. I like to introduce to you the Four Cardinal points of a successful business. The first cardinal point: The first point starts with you. Know yourself and apply to the business of your interest accordingly. Some have ruined their opportunity of making money in their businesses by engaging in what others are doing. The money may be good for a while. However, if the business is not generating money as expected, your passion for the business will sustain you and carry you on to success. Interest is the first cardinal point a CEO needs to be successful in business. Second cardinal point: Educate yourself in your business. The effort you put into anything that you do, will always translate to a quantifiable outcome. I like to say that the more you are knowledgeable about your business the more you will see different ways to ensure your success. You will not only know quick tips that could translate to money but also excellent ways to properly manage your resources. Education is the second cardinal point a CEO needs to be successful in business. Third cardinal point: Be patient with your business. Many have rushed into a business and also rushed out. The reason is that they are not patient to wait for the realization or the outcome of their efforts. Rome as someone said “was not built in a day”. For example three friends engage in the same type of business will not achieve the same results. While friend A may reach his goal in six months, friend B may reach her own goal in one year and friend C may reach her goal in two years. Many have rushed out of their business because they believe is taking too long to get to where they want the business to be. Perseverance is the third cardinal point a CEO needs to be successful in business. Fourth Cardinal point: Eliminate fear to act. Your fearlessness will always translate to a sustainable success in your business. Sometimes we are afraid of making the deal with a business partner, simply because we are afraid of the unknown. The truth is that not everyone will start with a million dollar deal and no one really knows a million dollar deal at first sight. It develops and gradually it is what you make it.
