The first-phase project with a total investment of $200 million by the Doosan Hydraulic Machinery (Jiangyin) Ltd. of South Korea formally wrapped up for operation on July 3. The 100-year-old Doosan Group of South Korea, one of the world’s top 500 enterprises, manufactures products ranked in the world-forefront levels ranging from those with the most sophisticated technology to the fast-moving consumer goods such as seawater desalination and large marine engines. According to the briefing, the Doosan Hydraulic Machinery’s Jiangyin project is mainly for the production of the core hydraulic system of the factory machinery, namely traveling motor, with annual travelling-motor production capacity of 80,000 sets for the first-phase project. The start-up of its second-phase project is expected in 2013 to expand its annual production capacities to 120,000 sets of travelling-motors and 24,000 sets of hydraulic pumps and realize total sales of 6 billion yuan. Zhang Weiguo, vice governor of Jiangsu province who attended the completion ceremony of the first-phase project of the Doosan Hydraulic Machinery (Jiangyin) Ltd., said since the second quarter of this year, under the guidance of the national policy of “stable growth”, the additional upsurge of infrastructure construction is expected to be launched. As an important gathering place of the domestic construction machinery industry, Jiangyin is expected to attract more and more domestic and international construction machinery giants to come to set up their factories in the future.
