Your wedding invitations are designed so that all of your family and friends will “save the date” and be at the venue. However, making sure that everyone gets the invitation is one thing while having them show up is another. Life is different for everyone and with the times being busier today than ever before it can be quite easy for someone to forget about the invitation that you sent, finding themselves with other commitments that have been made for that day. So, how do you go about reminding everyone about your big day without overdoing it? That is a question which is easier to answer than you might think if you put in the right type of planning for the event. Here are a few tips that will have people not only save the date, but show up on time as well. Naturally, it is important to have everyone’s physical and email address so that you can inform them about your wedding. In addition, you can even create a Facebook event page that celebrates the event as well while inviting everyone to participate. Inform People of the Date Usually the first indication that people have about your wedding date comes well in advance of the invitations. You can send out an email of the wedding date in advance to give everyone a heads up about when it is happening. Send Out Your Official Invitations The next step is your official invitations. They will need to be close enough to the date so that people will start to prepare, yet far enough ahead so that they can plan accordingly to avoid any other commitments for that particular day. Follow Up One to Two Weeks Later Your follow up can be done through emails to ensure that everyone got an official invitation. In this manner, anyone who did not can request another one which will help ensure that they will save the date for your happy event. Reminder of Last Minute Additions This is the tricky part in how do you remind everyone of your wedding in a manner that does not seem pushy. The answer is by announcing any last minute additions or changes about a week or two in advance. At this point any additional information that seems pertinent even if it is rather small as you can include places to park, the time frame of the event and any special activities that you want to include as well. It is the little things that help people remember your wedding date so that they will show up and participate. You will need to keep a good time schedule so that you can catch everyone that you send out invitations so they can remember. However, there will always be a forgetful few and unless you know who they are in advance, it is probably best to let them go. If you are aware of those who might be somewhat forgetful, an extra reminder or two will at least put your mind at ease about doing everything possible so that they will save the date for your wedding.
