When it came to my wedding the hardest part was trying to get everything together budget wise especially when it came down to getting gifts for the grooms and the bridesmaids and having money for the honeymoon etc. My wife and I are two very money conscious people and we needed to make sure that every penny was counted for otherwise we would break the bank. This led us to put together a wedding budget checklist that would allow us to see every penny we were spending outside of what was typically spent on at your average wedding. Given the amount of things that we wanted to do, we also broke our list down into the most important parts that we wanted to have at our wedding, the cost of what each item was such as bridesmaid gifts, groomsmen gifts, gifts for the bride’s parents and gifts for the groom’s parents. Once we were able to get the cost of everything we then began to look at our family members that would be attending to see if they could help eliminate any costs by helping out with the food that we wanted to be there. For us this cut down the cost considerably because we had many family members who volunteered to buy and make the food and my amazing sister in law graciously made our wedding cake again saving us a great deal of money. Also when it came to our wedding budget checklist we were able to compare and contrast the different costs for the decorations we wanted to have such as the centerpieces we chose for our reception. We cut out anything that we felt was unnecessary which freed up money to be used elsewhere or saved for after the wedding. Our last biggest worry was the music. Both of us love music and a lot of DJ’s can be expensive and our wedding Budget Checklist showed us that we could not afford a DJ but thankfully my father in a law was a DJ and he offered to do it for free. He took care of all the songs, did the traditional mother and son and father and the bride dances. I can honestly say that if it had not been for our wedding budget checklist we would have lost a lot more money than we needed to spend. I was so happy that we could focus on the most important part of the day which was celebrating being married to the girl of my dreams. I wish I could say that the wedding budget checklist was my idea but as we all know behind every man is a great woman helping him to be his best and because of her our wedding was the wedding of our dreams.
