When you have to decide on a promotional product to help you strengthen your marketing efforts, how do you determine which one will help you the most?

The right product depends on many things. Budget is one consideration. It is best to choose one which fits your budget. You get good mileage with your money. With an inexpensive product, you can afford to buy in bulk. You can reach more people. An inexpensive product may be attention-catching, but if you can afford only a limited number because of its price, you get to catch the attention of only a few – not a very good advertising strategy if you ask the experts.

Another consideration is your target demographic. Is it the youth? Is it yuppies? Is it corporate executives? Is it housewives? Is it schoolchildren? You have to choose a product that will go over big with the market that you are trying to target. It should be something which they will appreciate AND use.

Still one other consideration is the response you want to get from the individuals you will be handing out your promotional items to. Do you want them to be impressed? Do you want them to notice your name and logo on the item? Do you want them to keep the item in an accessible place? Do you want the item to prompt their memory so that when the occasion comes when there is a use for your product or service, they will get in touch with you?

How will you be using the promotional items? Will you be displaying them in your office, ready to be handed out to visiting guests and clients? Will you be taking them to promotional events and exhibits for distribution to the participants?

Promotional pens are an easy, practical and affordable means for advertising. They are light-weight, their size and weight lending themselves easily to being transported to conferences and other events and to being distributed to individuals.

Promotional pens are cheap. You do not have to break your advertising budget for them. Although they do not cost much, they are cost-effective, allowing you to readily establish rapport and goodwill with the people who get them. This goodwill is likely to translate to people’s readiness to patronize your service and product when the appropriate occasion arises.

Promotional pens can be packaged to cater to the taste of particular groups. They can be packaged as cute, delightful, and colorful novelty pens for the younger generation. They can be made to look functional for banks, schools, and other sedate establishments. They can be sleek and sophisticated for high-value clients.
