How to Prevent Getting Acne after Shaving

Health
People have to shave to remove extra hair from their body. No one likes a person that is too hairy. After shaving the pores on the skin are open which can lead to serious outbreaks of acne. There are now ways to shave without having to worry about acne. These tips will help prevent acne after shaving.

Before shaving the face or any other area of the body be sure to wet it down with warm water. This will not only allow the pores to open up but will give the skin the moisture it needs and reduce irritation.

Not all shaving creams are made the same. Be sure to look for a hydrating shaving cream that will add an additional layer of protection on the skin. The filmier the shaving cream is the smoother the razor will be allowed to move over the skin. This will help reduce irritation and will reduce the chance of acne from forming. Be sure to be generous with the shaving cream and apply a large amount on the skin.

Not all razors are made the same either. It is recommended to use a razor with that as single blade. Razors with double blades can damaged the layer of skin known as the dermis. When the skin grows back in the follicles can become clogged. Clogged follicles can lead to acne. Be sure to replace the razors often. Once the blade even becomes a little on the dull side it can irritate and bother the skin. Some people are better off using an electric razor. This will further irritation to the skin.

The way that a person shaves can lead to an outbreak of acne. Be sure to shave in the same direction that the hair grows back in. Before putting on the shaving cream take a look at the hair to determine which way that it will grow in. For most people the hair will grow in a downward manner. This will also reduce irritation to the skin and an outbreak of acne.

If a person wants to heal their skin after shaving there are some things they can add to it. A person can apply a little bit of benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid gel after they shave their skin. These products have been known to kill bacteria and clean the pores. This will help fight current acne and prevent new acne from forming. They will help close the pores. Witch hazel can also be used for people that want to use all natural products. A person can also apply unscented moisturize to the skin to help give it the moisture it needs to fight off acne. These are just some tips that a person can use can to prevent acne after shaving. These tips will help close the pores and will help prevent the skin from being irritated which can lead to acne. A person should take the time to treat their skin after shaving and make sure that it is not only hair free but healthy as well.
