The first round of a business plan competition held by Suzhou city government ended in Frankfurt on June 24. The “Win in Suzhou” international elite program (European Region), which was launched on March 10, was welcomed by many overseas talents. It has attracted 133 business projects by the end of May, covering areas including new energy, new material, bio-medicine, photoelectricity, ICT, management, finance, chemical engineering, machinery, auto and agriculture. The program is to attract more overseas talents to start their businesses in Suzhou as the city is in need of a large number of high-end talents during its fast economic development, said Zhang Shu, vice-secretary general of Suzhou city government. After the review and screening of the projects, more than 50 projects have entered the second round of the contest and ten entered the final round. The winners will participate in the “2012 Suzhou International Elite Business Week” in July. With his massive intelligent geographic information processing and analysis system project, Zhu Yueqiu, graduate of ESCP Europe, competed in the Frankfurt contest with his partners. He said the young people should grasp the opportunities offered by elite talent introduction policies of government at all levels in China, especially those in the Yangtze River Delta area.
