The Business Of Promoting Branded Pens

Promotional products like branded pens remain effective instruments for many businesses in terms of keeping the company name fresh in the minds of customers. However, even as they are effective tools, a few basic things should be considered when using pens as a means of advertising the company.

When it comes to branded pens, one issue commonly encountered is whether to put the company logo on these items. Many believe that this is the right thing to do, and for emphasis sake, the logo should even be large and bold.

When this option is taken, there may be issues with size and even placement; after all, pens are not exactly large items. If they get to bear generally bold signs and letters, the results may come out to be negative.

Advertising professionals say a small logo placed on a pen is highly acceptable, and may even prove to be more effective in terms of promotional results. Additionally, personalizing a promotional item like ballpoint pens may even turn in better marketing output. For example, pens bearing the name of the clients will be more appreciated as it creates the impression that they are genuinely valued.

Another thing to consider when using promotional pens as advertising tools is their shelf life. Some pens are produced using lightweight materials that tend to break easily. This is definitely not a good way of promoting the company name. Once the pen gets broken, it gets thrown away, and along with it is the name that it bears.

Ideally, try to settle for pens made from more durable materials. Plastic-based pens should be good, although they do come in many different types. Market research on the best types of plastics for pens should prove to be helpful in this case.

In this regard, one other factor to consider when making use of promotional products is the environment. As pens are made from a variety of materials, it is often wise to find out initially if these are environment-friendly. Simply put, people these days are more appreciative of items manufactured from safe and chemically-free raw products.

Finally, pens may be good promotional giveaways regardless of the kind of business involved. However, there are cases when giving away branded pens can appear inappropriate. For example, a company engaged in the selling of flowers may have to reconsider the idea of having pens as promotional items. In other words, look initially into the background of the business before settling for a suitable giveaway.
