When it comes to making your home stand out during the summer months, curb appeal is the key. Creating curb appeal for your home doesn’t have to cost a fortune and can be done fairly easily with some little changes. There are several things you can do to bolster the curb appeal of your home without breaking the bank. “Using what you have is a great idea. Reallocating some of the décor around your home to make a new look for your entryway is an excellent idea. Take the time to set up a seating area on your front porch that looks inviting complete with some hanging plants, comfortable chairs and lighting that sets the mood,” said Chris Ochs of Windsor Companies. “Adding some color is a good way to draw attention. You can paint your front door a bright color that sets off the style of the rest of the home and add pops of that same color over the porch in hanging plant pots and small décor on a table. This can help attract the eye and keep your front porch looking inviting,” said David Fohrenkamm of 651 Carpets. “Keeping your front lawn well manicured is also a good way to draw attention,” Simple and clean lines around the lawn and walkways, a well cut lawn and trimmed bushes go a long way. You can even add some seasonal flowers along the walk way or in front of the house to match the pops of color throughout. This will draw in anyone that is passing by,” said Dean Bjorkstrand. “Getting great curb appeal is easy enough if you are able to tie ideas together. If you have a theme for your home such as nautical or surfside, stick with that in adding detail to the front of the home. You can pick up some very nice pieces at local thrift stores that will look great in the front of your home. Add a little color with some paint and you will be noticed,” said Barb Tresbech of Corporate HVAC Mechanical.
