Summer is drawing to a close and the Labor Day holiday will soon be here. From September 5-7, Americans all across the country will be enjoying the last long travel weekend of the year. A Grand Canyon sightseeing flight tour would be the perfect way to top off your holiday weekend and end the summer. Flights From Las Vegas The tours that originate in Vegas can be landing tours or aerial tours. Helicopter Flights Over The South Rim Whether you drive to the airport in Tusayan which is near the South Rim, or if you fly there from Vegas, you'll have your choice of two helicopter tours. One of them lasts a half an hour and flies to the North Rim and returns. The better option is to take the longer tour that gives you fifty minutes of air time. This long tour flies over to the eastern border of the park as well as the remote North Rim and the South Rim. This tour is so comprehensive that you'll see about 3/4 of the entire Grand Canyon when you take it. You can't take a landing tour at the South Rim because helicopters are prohibited from landing there, but you can upgrade your tour to include a Jeep tour that follows the air tour. The Jeep tour is a scenic 2 1/2 hour ground tour through the park. You'll appreciate getting to see the park from the ground as well as from the air. Deluxe Tour Upgrades The basic tours are the most economical. These Grand Canyon flights utilize Bell Rangers and AStar choppers. These tours are great, but the deluxe tours are even better and worth the extra cost. EcoStar helicopters are used on these deluxe tours. They are made for commercial sightseeing, so they offer a more comfortable ride. There are no bad seats on these choppers because the comfy bucket seats are positioned stadium style.
