One thing that most people fear about dental surgeries is the thought of the accompanying pain and the related interventions that may not be very pleasant themselves. However, most people have to go through some form of dental surgery one way or another at least once in their lives. When these procedures are done correctly they will bear fruits to the patients especially by allowing them to use their teeth correctly, filling up the gaps or enabling them to have a correct bite. Sometimes the best way to get that perfect may require some tooth extraction or tooth replacement, whatever the need may be. Both these are usually considered part of dental surgery procedures. Many modern day dentists will advocate for restorative surgeries and procedures so that they do everything possible to ensure that they save their patient’s teeth. However, there are cases where tooth extraction has to be done so that some tooth replacements can take place effectively and with better outcomes or perhaps for the purpose of introducing some dental implants. There are many things that can damage your teeth or even a single tooth even though tooth decay is the most common cause. After a long period of time the root of a tooth can get so decayed to an extent that the enamel gets completely damaged. If you have such a condition there are high chances that your dentist will recommend tooth extraction as the only way to help you out. There are also cases where irreplaceable damage occurs to the crown and enamel of a person’s teeth so that they are so bad they cannot be fitted with bridges or a crown. There are also jaw injuries that can occur that are so extreme that cause broken bones that will necessitate tooth extraction as the only way out. Due to the advancement of technologies that are available in dental care tooth extraction and replacement are now easier and more affordable. There are modern materials that can be used so that patients receive durable replacements that can ensure an entire lifetime. Some of the most common forms of teeth replacement include: Dental implants: Dental implants form the bulk of procedures that are used to replace extracted teeth. These can include artificial prostheses that are made of ceramics or porcelain with a screw like part that is normally inserted into the jaw. This treatment is available for a single tooth or even a bunch of them including an entire row of teeth. Miscellaneous ways of replacing teeth: There are also a few other forms of teeth replacement treatments that include the addition of dentures especially when dealing with older patients who may have eroded jaw bones. Others include putting caps or crowns in place of a missing tooth as well as bridges.
