Choosing a conference venue is far from easy and it’s often a headache for organisers. However, Catalonia, with its incredible facilities, enticing culture and fast, easy Barcelona airport transfers, is increasingly attractive as a destination for major conferences. Why? Utility Before starting to wax lyrical about the region and its capital city, it’s perhaps worth remembering that ‘utility’ is never too far from conference organisers’ minds. The Catalonians are amongst some of Europe’s friendliest people and they know how to look after both personal and professional visitors. The catering and cuisine isn’t just about the admittedly delicious tapas – in fact, Catalunya now has one of the highest concentrations of Michelin-starred restaurants on the planet. There are also many other recreational opportunities including incredible art and architecture, as well spectacular beaches nearby, if time permits. It’s not hard to see why Barcelona is becoming a global conference centre – and it’s far more than just question of location!
