The majority of people heading off on their annual ski holiday to Méribel arrive into the bustling airport of Geneva. Driving from Geneva to Méribel takes just over 2 hours, and the roads are good so the journey is straightforward. There are several different options you can consider when transferring from Geneva to Méribel, which are outlined below. |
Private transfers are a stress free way of reaching resort. After meeting you at the arrivals hall, the driver will pack all your ski gear into the vehicle and whisk you straight up to Méribel to start your holiday. Transfers with Shuttle Direct, for example, can be booked in advance and you are guaranteed a reliable, efficient and professional service.
Hire cars can be booked before you leave the UK, or indeed organised at the airport on arrival. If there are a few of you in your group, car hire becomes an inexpensive transfer option. It is worth bearing in mind, however, that you will need to check on parking facilities at your chalet or hotel, as parking in the centre of Méribel can be tricky.
By pre-booking car hire you can guarantee the size of vehicle you require. You can also request ski racks and any other extra equipment you might need.
Hiring a car can be done form the Swiss or the French sides of Geneva airport and, although renting from the French side is usually cheaper, the journey time to resort takes longer from there. Remember to drop your vehicle off at the respective side that you hired it from.
