The history of the Kamasutra is very intriguing indeed. For generations people have been thinking that the book is all about conception and the different ways and diverse positions that give you the ecstatic feeling and take you to a different emotional level entirely. But that is simply not true. The Kamasutra was written in between 400 BC and 200 AD, where, the writer, and Indian philosopher named Vatsyayana, had no intension to only address those who are enthusiastic about different sexual positions and those who were interested only in conception. The history of the Kamasutra itself suggests that the book has a much deeper meaning. For generations no one outside the Indian civilization had paid close attention to the book, as it was originally entirely written in Sanskrit, the language in which most of the ancient Indian manuscripts were written. Only about 20 percent of the book highlights the various sexual positions and things related only to the conception part. But most of the rumors about the book suggest otherwise. The writer of this manuscript had only one thing in mind while actually writing this guide, and that was to educate people about their bodies and teaching them how to stay away from sexual problems. The bigger point of this book is to educate the general masses how to conduct themselves. You can think of this as more a self help guide for the people of ancient India. That however, does not in any way undermine the importance of this book. The lessons the book has to teach are applicable even today and whether or not you like it, today’s scenario is much worse than that of the ancient times. Keeping the physical aspect the book addresses aside, the book also has various things written about the human desire. It teaches us how to deal with our deepest desires, love, family, friends and the distinction clearly made between the right and wrong kind of sexual behavior. The history of the Kamasutra teaches about the needs of two people in a relationship, physical and mental, which cover much more than just the conception part. The history of the Kamasutra has involved a lot of people clearly misunderstanding the book; whereas the book has some valuable knowledge regarding the important aspects of our lives. The average person is brainwashed by the media more than you can think about. On the whole there is very little one can do to think independently or gain any kind of knowledge to actually have the right idea about any incident or any kind of an issue other than what the media spoon feeds us. The best thing to know is that this book teaches you to open your mind up to a plethora of different thoughts and make sure that you do not accept what you have in hand while getting any kind of information at hand. With this book you can open your mind once more.
