When you think of bank supplies, one might ponder images of those old school penny rolls or a giant deposit slip book. Bank supplies have made their way into the news for a variety of reasons, none of which have to do with banking or monetary transactions. Wood Bank Supplies Winter coal prices skyrocketed this year, which left many residents in New England communities scrambling to find heating sources to keep them warm. Utilizing the concept of her local food pantry, one woman wanted to take the multiple acres of trees she had and create ways for struggling families to heat their homes without guilt or the burden of having to explain why they wouldn’t be able to afford the price. Acting as an amazing neighbor, she started insisting that her friends take some of the wood because it was just going to “go to waste” in the backyard. As word began to spread, the awareness of the need became greater and wood bank supplies became a reality. Food Bank Supplies As citizens, we know the concept as our local food pantry. In actuality, they are referred to as food bank supplies. When rations are low, a request for public awareness in the form of public service announcements (PSA’s), social media and print advertising are triggered. There is a growing disparity of wealth in this country, which is putting a heavier reliance upon stronger donations of food bank supplies, such as canned goods, non-perishables, flour and dry noodles. Milk Bank Supplies In Virginia, the concept of having a supply of milk for newborn babies was born with the creation of The Kings’ Daughters Milk Bank. It’s no secret that newborns are healthier on breast milk and milk bank supplies, in the form of six ounce bags, help mothers who have a harder time in this area. The mothers of Norfolk, Virginia have the benefit of a unique concept that helps newborns get the nourishment they need to grow up healthy and strong. It’s also known that breastmilk-fed babies have a higher resistance to illnesses and a stronger immune system, as a result. Wheat Bank Supplies Much like a farmers co-op, wheat bank supplies are stored in grain elevators and counted. The levels of these supplies vary, depending on external market factors like weather, demand and import/export needs. Wheat has been a hot topic issue in recent years, as a growing number of people have developed an allergic reaction to wheat gluten and the Financial Bank Supplies Most banks operate like a well-oiled machine. In order for this to happen, they are going to need a large quantity and variety of bank supplies. Deposit slips for checking and savings accounts, pamphlets, literature on the latest financial instruments and services being offered, well-positioned signage, bank bags, currency trays, coin counters and a host of other items keep the money organized and tracked. On a day-to-day basis, we go about our business without an afterthought, once we leave the bank. The process of depositing money is more tedious than we realize and without these products available at the bank teller and lender’s fingertips, productivity slows down and disarray can ensue. One thing is for certain, it doesn’t matter what type of bank supplies we’re talking about. Each type serves its purpose by fulfilling a need in the community. Whether it’s a food pantry or your local credit union, bank supplies are an important part of our society.
