Hello there and welcome back for another week of random anime!! It's been a while, glad to be back! For this week we are taking a look at a very popular Netflix Original: The Seven Deadly Sins. Despite the name, I promise you it is quite the comedy. I was skeptical at first, in fact, my girlfriend had to practically beg me to watch it; however, as soon as I watched that first episode, I was hooked. The amazing action and adventure, paired with the tremendous comedic dialogue, it's amazing. I love the characters, especially once you get into all of the back stories and get to know them better. Anyway, why don't I tell you about it? The anime series takes place in a kingdom known as Britallia. It is ruled by a powerful king; the king is guarded by the most powerful and trustworthy warriors known as the Holy Knights. Atop the Holy Knights is an incredibly powerful group of Holy Knights known throughout the land as The Seven Deadly Sins. They are known for their brute strength, good willing, and loyalty to the king. However, dark times overtake the land. Those who were once looked up to as heroes are branded as traitors, betrayed by their own country. The Seven Deadly Sins were said to be plotting to overthrow the king, and they were blamed for the result of a bloody battle with the Holy Knights and the murdering of the grand master. That was ten years ago... Now, the kingdom is in even more trouble! Image that, right? At present time, the king is being kept in his quarters by the holy knights and their two grand masters under the excuse that he is ill. The king's family is also being kept away, but no one knows why. The third daughter of the king, princess Elizabeth, sneaks out of the castle and out of the kingdom on a search for the only warriors that can save the kingdom. Why does she trust them when everyone else doesn't? Well, that's a long story. Anyway, she set out on a journey to find the most powerful warriors the kingdom has ever known. So now that you know the back story and a little bit about the anime, we can talk about the characters a little bit! The main character, and by far the best one, is Meliodas. He is ridiculously powerful, but he puts his powers aside to help others. Even when it looks like he is being beat, he really has a plan, that more than likely involves helping or saving someone. As for the other ones, you will just have to watch the anime and find out!! The anime as a whole is just fantastic. I love the way the story line progresses and we get to learn, bit by bit, about the history of each of the main characters. Though the characters and story are all amazing and they have some amazing dialogue, the back story is where it's at. Unfortunately, it is pretty sad. Most of the characters have terrible back stories that will have you on the edge of tears. Then you will get a nice comic relief and you get over it, and fall in love with the characters even more!
