NADCAP gold electroplating is the most common metal finishing processes around; this is because the electroplating service can easily adhere to just about any metalling surface that you can think about whether it is copper, brass or nickel in addition to silver items. The gold electroplating service can re-plate and restore the gold finish so that no one gets to see the metal that actually sits below the surface. For those metals that usually undergo the NADCAP gold electroplating service, their atoms will literally diffuse into the gold layer. This diffusion will happen over the course of time and this is normally what causes the gradual dulling of the gold color until the surface eventually tarnishes. Even though the gold plating can eventually wear off, the rate of tarnishing will actually be determined by the piece. Among the most important factors that will determine how fast your NADCAP gold electroplating will go will go include the fact that thicker plating lasts longer since there will be more that has to be worn away. Take note also that gold has a natural affinity towards some metals and, as a result, it will hold tighter to titanium and silver as opposed to nickel and copper; the tighter it holds, the longer you can expect the plating to remain. In addition to that, the more an object is used or rubbed, the faster the gold plate will wear away. As long as it is done by professionals, NADCAP gold electroplating is a safe process that will enhance the usability of any other metal.
